It was carnival-like at the National Stadium (The Gymnasium Hall) Surulere on Sunday when MultiChoice Nigeria kicked off the new Premier League season.

Dubbed ‘Super Sunday’ English Premier League fans were treated to some exciting football as Newcastle played Arsenal, Leicester took on Wolves and Manchester United outclassed Chelsea.

With analysis from Charles Anazodo; former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo; former Super Eagles striker Victor Ikpeba and sport pundit Segun Agbede, fans had the chance to watch their teams live on big screens.

Also present was Martin Mabutho, Chief Customer Officer, MultiChoice Nigeria.

While Arsenal kicked off their season with a 1-0 win against Newcastle at the St. James Park thanks to a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang second half strike, Leicester and Wolves played out an entertaining 0-0 draw.

The big show was saved for last as Frank Lampard’s Chelsea travelled to Old Trafford to play Manchester United.

It was Marcus Rashford that grabbed the headline with two goals for the Red Devil with Anthony Martial and David James scoring one each to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side an emphatic 4-0 victory.
