Real Madrid came from behind to defeat La Liga rivals Barcelona 2-1 in Saturday’s El Classico encounter.

A Jude Bellingham brace in the dearth of time was all the visitors needed to tuple Barcelona in their own yard.

Iikay Gundogan opened the scoring for the home side in the 6th minute of the very entertaining encounter after capitalizing on a yellow card offence committed by Madrid’s Dani Carvajal.

Despite Madrid’s attempts on goal, which forced Barcelona’s Fermin and Ferran Torres to be yellow carded, the score line remained in favour of Barcelona until halftime.

A strike by Madrid’s talisman, Jude Bellingham, in the 68th minute restored parity between both sides shortly after Robert Lewandoski returned from injury to replace Ferran Torres in the 61st minute.

Despite both sides making various attempts on goal, the clash between the LaLiga giants went into added minutes with one goal each.

However, the Carlo Ancelotti side went home with all three points when Bellingham converted a pass from midfield maestro Luka Modric in the second minute of added time.

The win against Barcelona leaves Los Blancos and Girona at the top of the log with 28 points, separated only by goal difference.

Madrid will face Rayo Vellacano in their next league fixture, while Barcelona will hope to return to winning when they go away to face Real Sociedad.
