Leicester City’s Thai owners, King Power, have put the club up for sale after 16 years of ownership, with the group apparently demanding more than £200 million.

As reported by BBC Sport on Thursday, a sales brochure created by US investment bank Citigroup is being distributed to prospective purchasers as the team looks for new investors.

The eight-page “Project Lineup” paper mentions Leicester City, the club’s women’s squad, and other important assets, including the 32,000-capacity King Power Stadium and the Seagrave training facility.

Leicester’s Belgian sister club, OH Leuven, is also among the assets up for sale.

The brochure estimates that the club’s physical assets are worth more than £200 million, but no particular amount has been tied to the sale of its men’s and women’s teams.

Citigroup described the transaction as “a rare opportunity to acquire a club with an excellent track record of winning promotions to higher divisions.”

The brochure showcases Leicester’s historic achievements, such as winning the Premier League in 2016 and the FA Cup in 2021.

However, the paper makes no reference to the club’s current League One position, following successive relegations from the Premier League and Championship.

It also expects Leicester’s revenue to exceed £97 million in the fiscal year 2026.

The sales materials, however, do not include information about the club’s recent financial losses or problems. Leicester’s 2025 records indicated £103.6 million in bank loans, but the club reportedly lost more than £180 million between 2023 and 2025, when they were relegated from the Premier League twice in three years.

King Power, controlled by the Srivaddhanaprabha family, paid £35 million to purchase Leicester City from Milan Mandaric in 2010.

Khun Aiyawatt “Top” Srivaddhanaprabha is the club’s current chairman, succeeding his father, Khun Vichai, who died in a helicopter crash outside King Power Stadium in 2018.

Reports of a potential sale surfaced in July, but the distribution of the sales brochure confirms that the club is actively looking for new owners.

The development comes as Leicester supporters become increasingly frustrated with the club’s recent slide.

Leicester were demoted from the Championship last season and will start their new season in the third division under manager Russell Martin.

Despite recent troubles, the team is promoted as one of only five English clubs to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, and League Cup since 2000.

The brochure also emphasizes Leicester’s academy and scouting setup, characterizing the club as having a solid talent pipeline capable of generating top-tier players.

The club just sold academy graduate Jeremy Monga to Manchester City for £10 million.

When BBC Sport approached Leicester City about the sales brochure, they declined to comment.
