The Kebbi State House of Assembly on Wednesday unanimously enjoined the Speaker of the House, Abdulmumini Kamba, to issue a warrant of arrest on the former governor of the state, Alhaji Saidu Usman Dakingari, for his refusal to heed the House summon for the third time.

Moving the motion for his arrest shortly after the House sat for the business of the day, Hon. Aminu Mohammed Bunza told the House that, since the former governor had turned down the invitation to appear before it to explain his involvement in a misappropriation of N6.5 billion airport projects for the third time it would be most appropriate for the Speaker to do so.

Pointing out that the warrant if issued and signed will be forwarded to the State Commissioner of Police who will also sign and effect the Former governor’s arrest and be brought to the House Of Assembly for possible questioning.

Addressing Newsmen shortly after their plenary, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammad Buhari Aliero stated that invitation sent to the former governor of Kebbi state over an alleged misappropriation of government funds during the construction of Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in the State was not to witch hunt him but to put certain records straight.

“No politics involved here, the House is just performing its oversight function and mind you, the House had exhausted every available options to bring the former governor to the floor of the House to no avail before we now arrived at this last option of warrant arrest.” He added.
