Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has sent his profound condolences to the former governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi, on the loss of his mother, Dame Ezinne Amaechi.
Fubara expressed deep sympathy for the former governor in a condolence message issued on behalf of the Rivers State government and people, describing his mother’s death as an irreparable loss not only to the immediate family but also to the Catholic faithful, the entire Ubima community, and Rivers State.
Mr. Onwuka Nzeshi, the governor’s chief press secretary, delivered a statement in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
While acknowledging that losing a mother is a terribly difficult event, Fubara encouraged Amaechi and his family to find comfort in the “good life Mama lived and the legacies she left behind.”
He recognized Mama’s crucial role in creating the character and values of her family and the community as a whole.
The governor prayed to God to console the entire family during this terrible time and to grant the soul of the deceased grandmother eternal peace.
Amaechi, a former minister of transportation, is currently the African Democratic Congress’ vice-presidential contender in the 2027 general elections.
