    Frank Edwards mourns Uma Ukpai says ‘I was healed of asthma, pneumonia at his crusade’

    Frank Edwards, the Nigerian gospel singer, has shared a testimony of his “miraculous healing” through Uma Ukpai, the late evangelist.

    The renowned cleric and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association died at the age of 80.

    Paying tribute on his Instagram page on Monday, Edwards revealed that as a child, he was healed of two life-threatening illnesses during one of Ukpai’s crusades.

    The ‘Okaka’ hitmaker also expressed gratitude to the late clergy for “impacting the world in a special way”.

    “At age 8 I got healed of asthma and pneumonia in one of your crusades in Enugu!! Thank you for impacting the world in a special way!! You Finished well papa rest on,” he wrote.

    Ukpai is remembered as a foundational figure in Nigerian Pentecostalism, having played a key role in the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) and shaping its vision and growth.

    His family has stated that I details of his funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

    Edwards, 36, is a prominent figure in the gospel music scene, known for his high-pitch vocal style and multi-instrumental talent on the keyboard and guitar.

    He founded the Rocktown Records label, which has launched the careers of artistes like Gil Joe and King BAS.

    Since his debut album ‘The Definition’ in 2008, Edwards has released influential projects such as ‘Angels on the Runway’ and ‘Frankincense’.
