Handwriting experts say a newly released note linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein appears to match another handwritten document discovered after his death in a New York jail cell.
According to an investigation by the Associated Press, forensic handwriting analysts compared the latest note with one previously recovered following Epstein’s death in 2019 at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.
The experts told AP that similarities in the writing style, letter formations and overall characteristics strongly suggest both notes were written by the same person. The report adds another layer to the continuing public scrutiny surrounding the circumstances of Epstein’s death, which was officially ruled a suicide.
The newly surfaced note reportedly emerged during legal proceedings involving former inmate Nicholas Tartaglione, who had shared a jail unit with Epstein before his death.
Authorities have repeatedly maintained there was no evidence of foul play in Epstein’s death. However, conspiracy theories and questions over the handling of the case have persisted for years, fuelled by Epstein’s connections to wealthy and influential figures.
The AP report said the handwriting review was conducted independently by specialists who examined the documents side-by-side. While the findings do not reopen the official cause of death, they may influence ongoing public debate over the case.
