Rhissa Ag Boula, a former rebel commander and politician in Niger, has formed the Council of Resistance for the Republic (CRR) to restore deposed President Mohamed Bazoum to power, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
In the first evidence of internal opposition to a July military coup, the movement declared it would back international attempts to restore constitutional order in Niger.
