    DHQ declares Simon Ekpa, 96 others wanted over terrorism

    A factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Simon Ekpa, has been declared wanted by the Defence Headquarters over terrorism. 

    Ekpa was declared wanted by the DHQ along with no fewer than 96 people. They include terrorists and rebels, wanted for their involvement in terrorism in the country.

    Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed the names and images of those proclaimed sought on Friday.

    Unlike in November 2022, when the military declared no fewer than 19 bandit commanders wanted and offered a N5 million bounty to encourage Nigerians to provide information that could lead to their capture, no bounty was placed on the 97 people labeled wanted this time.

    The names and images included terrorists from the Northeast and North West, as well as insurgents from the South East and North Central.

    A total of 43 people were declared wanted in the North West Zone ravaged by banditry, among which are:
    Alhaji Shingi, Malindi Yakubu, Boka, Dogo Gide, Halilu Sububu, Ado Aliero, Bello Turji, Dan Bokkolo, Labi Yadi, Nagala, Saidu Idris, Kachalla Rugga, and Sani Gurgu.

    33 people were declared wanted. In the North East, ravaged by Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province terrorists

    Some of those declared wanted in the region include Abu Zaida, Modu Sulum, Baba Data, Ahmad, Sani Teacher, Baa Sadiq, Abdul Saad, Kaka Abi, Mohammad Khalifa, Umar Tella, Abu Mutahid, Mallam Mohammad, Mallam Tahiru Baga, Uzaiya, and Ali Ngule.

    Also, no fewer than 21 insurgents and violent criminals were declared wanted in the southeast and north-central areas.

    They are Simon Ekpa, Chika Edoziem, Egede, Zuma, Thank God, Gentle, Flavour, Mathew, David Ndubuisi, High Chief Williams Agbor, Ebuka Nwaka, Friday Ojimka, Obiemesi Chukwudi aka Dan Chuk, David Ezekwem Chidiebube, and Amobi Chinonso Okafor aka Temple, among others.
