President Bola Tinubu joined Muslim faithful on Wednesday to observe Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos state.

The President was accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; the former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa; the Deputy Governor and the Lagos APC governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat; and other Muslim faithful.

Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, revealed this in a post on his X handle on Wednesday.

He wrote, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Lagos APC governorship candidate, and other Muslim faithful, observed the Eid Mubarak prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State.”

Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace love, tolerance, and unity as Muslims around the country commemorate Eid-el-Kabir.

Chronicle NG reports that Tinubu met with journalists on Wednesday after attending Eid prayers at the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Lagos.

The president thanked God for allowing Nigerians to celebrate another Eid-el-Kabir and urged citizens to reflect on the season’s lessons.

“Well, we thank God, Almighty Allah, who has provided for us and kept us to see another year, another Eid-el-Kabir.

“We thank Him for His mercy, and we must learn from the lessons of this season by showing love to one another. No discrimination, no ethnicity, no hatred,” Tinubu said.

He asked Nigerians to be generous and compassionate to one another in ways that reflect the country’s ideals and shared humanity.

“We should share love and be generous to one another in a way that reflects the values of our country and our common humanity,” the president stated.

Tinubu also emphasized the importance of tolerance, obedience to the will of Allah, and respect for the rule of law.

“It is essential that we remain tolerant, obedient to the will of Allah, and obedient to the rule of law, which must guide our society,” he added.

Speaking further on the significance of sacrifice during Eid-el-Kabir, the president said the celebration highlights the sanctity and value of human life.

“The sacrifice we are talking about, even in the beginning of life, where we take this from, a child was replaced with an animal. And that is what the value of life is all about,” Tinubu said.
