    Egbetokun deploys Mba, other promoted DIGs, AIGs

    AIG Tunji Disu was appointed acting Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday after Kayode Egbetokun’s resignation.

    The acting IGP of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has posted and reassigned seven promoted DIGs to various departments.

    The Police Service Commission had previously promoted worthy officers to the position of Deputy Inspectors-General of Police.

    DIG Habu A. Sani will lead the Force Intelligence Bureau, DIG Frank Emeka Mba will oversee the Department of Training and Development, and DIG Bala Ciroma will lead the Department of Finance and Administration, according to a statement from the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.

    DIG Usman D. Nagogo will lead the Department of Logistics and Supply, DIG Ede Ayuba Ekpeji will oversee the Department of Operations, DIG Daniel Sokari-Pedro will lead the Department of Information and Communication Technology, and DIG Ibrahim Sani Ka’oje will lead the Department of Research and Planning.

    In a similar vein, the IGP has given his approval for the appointment of select Assistant Inspectors-General of Police to the Force’s Commands and Formations.

    AIG Idris Dabban Dauda has been assigned to Zone 16 Yenagoa, AIG Oyediran Adesoye Oyeyemi has been assigned to lead the Police Cooperative, and AIG Benjamin Okolo Nebeolisa has been assigned to lead the AIG Department of ICT. AIG Oladimeji Yomi Olanrewaju has been posted as the Force Secretary.

    The IGP instructed the senior officers who were recently posted and redeployed to uphold professionalism in their respective Departments, Commands, and Formations while placing a priority on human security and people-centric policing services.
