    Evans was given ultimatum to hire lawyers

    Suspected billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, has finally appointed a new lawyer after 108 days.

    The suspected kidnapper is facing trial at a Lagos High Court in Igbosere, Lagos Island.

    Evans is facing a seven-count charge of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to kidnap and selling of firearms alongside Joseph Ikenna Emeka, 29, Chiemeka Arinze, 39, Udeme Frank Upong, 43.

    Since January 31 when his former lawyers Olukoy Ogungbeje and Chino Obiagwu SAN withdrew from the case following disagreements, Evans had been without a counsel.

    Evans’ new lawyer is R.B.C Eke.

    He is the suspect’s third lawyer since his arraignment in 2017.
