A police inspector (name withheld) has reportedly killed himself in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. The late officer worked for the Borno Police Command’s Gwange Division. According to neighborhood sources, he appeared healthy when he was last seen three days ago. It’s unclear why the policeman took the action. Nigerian politician and activist Aisha Yesufu has berated the sentencing of Nigerian crossdresser Okuneye Idris Olarewaju, popularly called Bobrisky, by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos. Chronicle NG reports that Justice Abimbola Awogboro sentenced the crossdresser to six-month imprisonment without the option of a fine for naira abuse. The naira experienced a huge appreciation at the official market, trading at N1,142.38 to the dollar on Friday. According to data from the official trading portal of the FMDQ Exchange, which administers the Nigerian autonomous foreign exchange market, the naira increased by N88.23. No fewer than 1,3436 suspects have been arrested nationwide for various offences, including murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, gunrunning, and rape, the Nigeria Police reveals. The remains of an adult male suspected to be one of the victims involved in an accident that occurred on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State on Wednesday have been recovered. Two passengers reportedly fell into the lagoon after a commercial bus crashed on the bridge.
