The Joint Action Committee of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has called off its current strike for a month.  On Monday, October 28, 2024, the JAC of SSANU and NASU went on indefinite strike over the four months of unpaid wages. No fewer than 130 foreign nationals have been arrested by the Nigerian Police for “high-level” cybercrimes.  Among the suspects are 113 foreign nationals, 87 men and 26 women from China and Malaysia. Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, has begun proceedings to withdraw the charges against the 76 minors who were arraigned before Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja.  Hours after the arraignment, the AGF expressed his desire to take over the case from the Inspector General of Police in a statement issued late Friday night. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned the serving provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Zamfara State, Hauwau Abdulkarim, alongside a lecturer with the Sokoto State College of Education, Abdullahi Boyi, over alleged certificate forgery. The ICPC accused the two defendants of faking an appointment letter and subsequently used it to apply for the position of provost at the college.
