The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the expulsion of the House of Representatives member for Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere, from the party by the Umuopia/Umukegwu ward chapter of the party in Imo State. Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju on Friday repudiated claimed defamatory statements made against the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) interim National Chairman and National Secretary, Umar Damagun, as well as Senator Samuel Anyanwu. Adeyanju, in a letter dated December 6 from his law company, Deji Adeyanju & Partners, signed by Zainab Otega, apologised for the slander. No fewer than six persons reportedly lost their lives, while one sustained varying degrees of injury in a multiple accident in Ibadan on Thursday and Friday, respectively. A police officer and an operative of the Anambra Vigilante Group have sustained varying degrees of injuries during a gun battle with some yet-to-be-identified assailants at a police checkpoint in the Ajali community, in the Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State. Burkina Faso’s ruling military leader fired the country’s prime minister and dissolved the government, according to a presidential decree.  The dismissed Prime Minister has led three straight cabinets and survived each reshuffle. The Police Service Commission has approved the removal of 19 senior police officers, including 10 assistant superintendents, six deputy superintendents, two chief superintendents, and one superintendent. The commission also recommended a fall in rank for 19 additional senior personnel, including one Assistant Commissioner of Police, one Chief Superintendent, two Superintendents, two Deputy Superintendents, and 13 Assistant Superintendents.
