Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed the executive secretary of the Osun Health Insurance Scheme, Dr. Rasak Akindele, to enroll all retirees in the state in the health scheme. Two people were reported killed on Thursday, while six others were rescued after Plateau State Police Command agents battled suspected kidnappers in a gun battle. It was learned that the kidnappers had previously raided Gwalada village in Bauchi State’s nearby Toro LGA and kidnapped some inhabitants. Some police officers who were informed of the event later tracked the kidnappers down to their hiding place in the border village. Nwafor Nwesuzor, an employee at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, (UNIZIK),  Anambra State, has been suspended for allegedly forging his degree and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate. This was revealed in a press statement issued on Thursday by Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, Special Adviser on Public Relations and Special Duties to UNIZIK’s Vice Chancellor. According to Ojukwu, the counterfeit was found when Nwesuzor, an administrative staff member, wrote to the UNIZIK’s management requesting that his degree result be changed. Abubakar Bichi, the chairman of the House of Representatives committee on appropriations, has stated that the budget for the presidential yacht has been transferred to student loans.
