The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered the distribution of an additional 220 operational vehicles, including water canons, armoured personnel carriers, helmets, bulletproof vests, tear gas canisters, and other equipment, to Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states in order to beef up security for the elections. Gunmen have reportedly stormed the Kiyawa Local Government Chairman’s residence in Jigawa State and kidnapped his two wives. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it confiscated 14,481,519 pills of hard drugs worth N13 billion at Amuwo Odofin and Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State.
