The police in Kwara State have launched an inquiry into the loss of a newborn baby’s umbilical cord and placenta at the Government Cottage Hospital in Iloffa, Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the state.  Mrs. C. Williams, a class teacher at Orota Secondary School in Odo-Owa, claimed to have given birth on Sunday night but was not given the umbilical cord or placenta by medical officials. Personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS) went on the rampage on Friday at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, manhandling two senior staff members, John Nnadi of the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream) and Chris Odoh, a Deputy Director.  Trouble began for the two when DSS staff sought their identity cards as they made their way from the Senate Building to the White House, the beautiful structure that connects the Senate and the House of Representatives buildings. Binance executive Tigran Gambaryan had his bail application dismissed by the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday. The funeral service for late Nollywood actor John Odonwodo, aka Junior Pope, has begun at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish in Ukehe, Enugu State. The 43-year-old actor and four others died on April 10 when their boat capsized in the Anam River while returning from a film shoot. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the sale of e-tags that will allow admission into Nigeria’s 24 federal airports. The sale is scheduled to begin today, May 17.
