The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the permanent seizure of properties worth approximately N11.14 billion and N1.04 billion owned by former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele by the federal government. The Kano State Government has advised residents to avoid drinking rainwater during the rainy season to prevent the spread of cholera.  The statement was issued on Saturday by Ibrahim Abdullahi, Head of the Public Relations Unit, Ministry of Health. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two of its policemen over the death of a civilian during an illegal operation. This was disclosed in a statement on X by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Command’s Public Relations Officer. The mother of Brazilian football legend Pele, Celeste Arantes, died at the age of 101, outliving her famous son by 18 months, the family confirmed on Friday.  Arantes was 17 years old when she gave birth to her first child, a boy who would grow up to be widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time. “Rest in peace, grandma,” Pele’s eldest son Edinho wrote on Instagram, a message illustrated with a photo of him hugging his grandmother.
