Ogun Gov. Dapo Abiodun has approved the payment of hazard allowance to state health workers. Scholarships have been awarded to members of host communities in Benue and Kogi States by Dangote Coal Mines Limited. This is only a year into a coal mining operation at Effeche Akpalli in the Ugbokolo Ward of Benue’s Okpokwu Local Government. Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, insisted on Thursday that he won the presidential election last Saturday and was ready to prove it. He claimed that the presidential election, won by All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Tinubu, was tainted and scripted to produce predetermined results. Kwara police are investigating a homicide in which a police officer shot and killed a woman on the grounds of a school in Ilorin on Thursday. Following the murder, the police officer shot himself to death. The murdered woman was thought to be the officer’s mistress.
