The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) seized 10.8kg of illicit drugs and arrested 88 offenders in Lagos State in January 2023. Its spokesman in the Lagos State Command, Mr. Musa Mallum, stated on Monday that those arrested included 80 males and eight females. He added that narcotic joints raided and dismantled in the state in January were located at Alaba Rago, Lagos Island, and Agege areas. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said about 1,265,227 ad hoc workers will participate in the forthcoming general election. The National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, said all the ad hoc workers were being trained to understand the requirements for the conduct of the polls. A Lagos Magistrates’ Court in Ogba has remanded a lecturer at the Lagos State University of Technology formerly (LASPOTECH) (names withheld) in the custody of Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling his 10-year-old daughter. He was also alleged to have been having carnal knowledge of the minor since 2018.
