An Oregon judge has sentenced Nancy Crampton Brophy, a romance author who apparently foretold of her crime in an essay titled “How to murder your husband”, to life in prison for the shooting death of her late spouse. Crampton Brophy, 71, was found guilty of second degree murder last month. A jury found that she shot her husband of 26 years in 2018 for a $1.5m (£1.2m) life insurance pay-out. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, has ordered for a review of Nigerian Army’s rules of engagement and code of conduct for “Operation Safe Conduct” ahead of 2023 general elections.
