A three-man panel of Judges of the Court of Appeal, Abuja, led by Justice Bature Isah Gafai, has dismissed an appeal filed by Baba Chado Kantigi claiming ownership of House No. 10, Kinshasa Street, Wuse Zone 6, Abuja. The appeal was dismissed on Monday, October 31, 2022. Kantigi filed the appeal to claim ownership of the property linked to Alhaji Liman Kantigi, a former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Niger state while Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu was governor. A businessman, Afolabi Islamiu Olayinka and his company, Bowofab Global Services Limited, were today, brought before a Lagos Federal High Court, on allegations bordering on conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence and fraud to the tune of N58, 527 million. The businessman and his company were brought before the court presided over by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, on the alleged offences by the men of Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi, Lagos. A staff of Stanbic IBTC bank, Ajayi Olusola, was arraigned before a Lagos Federal High Court, for allegedly defrauding the bank of N205 million. Ajayi, who now operates a limited liability company, Abel System Services Limited, was accused of committing the fraud between 2015 and 2021, while still working with the bank. He was alleged to have committed the fraud against Stanbic IBTC alongside one Ayodele Olaogun and Hakeem Adisa Abdulhadi, who are now at large. A British subsidiary of mining and trading group Glencore was ordered to pay a total penalty of 276.4 million pounds ($310.6 million) in a London court on Thursday for seven bribery offences in relation to its oil operations in Africa. Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was wounded in the shin on Thursday when his convoy was shot at in the country’s east on Thursday, an aide said. A member of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party said several colleagues were also wounded amid reports one had been killed. “A man opened fire with an automatic weapon.
