The 34 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army on Monday in Obinze, Owerri, said gunmen attacked its soldiers on patrol at Izombe community, Oguta council area of Imo. The Brigade’s spokesperson, Capt. Joseph Akubo, confirmed this while speaking with newsmen in Owerri on Monday. The UK government on Monday issued a new travel alert on Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, noting that, it is safe for its citizens to travel there. A Lagos Federal High Court on Monday discharged seven Indian citizens and a Nigerian, charged by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for unlawful importation of cocaine into the country. The Bayelsa State Emergency Management Agency (BYSEMA), says the flood has affected no fewer than 1.3 million people. This is according to data released on Monday by BYSEMA in Yenogoa and obtained by NAN.
