At least 68 people were killed on Sunday when a domestic flight crashed in Pokhara in Nepal, the country’s Civil Aviation Authority said, in the worst air crash in three decades in the small Himalayan nation. Hundreds of rescue workers were scouring the hillside where the Yeti Airlines flight, carrying 72 people from the capital Kathmandu, went down in Nepal. Veteran Nigerian actor, Femi Ogunrombi popularly known as Papa Ajasco, is dead, a colleague disclosed in the early hours of Sunday. Ogunrombi who was popular for his comical display on Nigeria sitcom, Papa Ajasco and Company, was also a music instructor with the national troupe. Kenya’s Centum Investment Co. Plc said it had ended a pact with Nigeria’s Access Bank to sell its 83.4% shareholding in Kenya’s Sidian Bank, as the timeframe for completion of the transaction had lapsed. In June, Centum announced plans to sell the stake to Access Bank, a subsidiary of Access Holdings, subject to regulatory approval in Kenya and Nigeria. Iran has executed British-Iranian national Alireza Akbari, the judiciary’s Mizan news agency reported on Saturday, after sentencing him to death on charges of spying for Britain. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said on Friday that Iran must not follow through with the execution of Akbari, a former Iranian deputy defence minister. The North East APC Youth Stakeholders Forum has threatened to halt their support for the APC vice-presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima over lack of inclusion.
