At least three people were killed and 11 others were injured in an armed bandits attack in the Bagega hamlet in Zamfara State’s Anka Local Government Area. During the attack, the bandits kidnapped the district head of the village, his eight-year-old daughter, and roughly ten others. The House of Representatives has instructed the Public Accounts Committee to investigate charges of illegal handling of COVID-19 intervention funding. Nyampa Zakari, a PDP member from Adamawa State, proposed the order at plenary on Tuesday. In his motion, Zakari claimed that various ministries and organisations misappropriated COVID-19 intervention funds throughout the pandemic. A strike on a Gaza hospital compound which health officials there said killed at least 200 people has provoked outrage and condemnation from around the world, with protests on the streets of Amman, Tunis, Beirut and Tehran. Flooding after heavy rains in eastern Ghana has forced nearly 26,000 people to leave their homes at the request of the authorities, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) said Tuesday. Crops have been destroyed and schools shut after two hydroelectric dams overflowed at Akosombo and Kpong. “We have moved most of the affected people to a safe haven. Nine members of a local vigilante group were killed by gunmen believed to be bandits in Burra Forest, Ningi Local Government Area, Bauchi State. The vigilantes were reportedly killed when they were  on the trail of the bandits at their hideouts.
