Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi has ordered the arrest of some persons trading on the completed section of the Aba axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, still undergoing rehabilitation. Umahi, who was in Aba to inspect the project, directed the security operatives attached to his motorcade to arrest the erring traders. The police say they have arrested a 39-year-old man for impersonating the speaker of Jigawa House of Assembly, Aliyu Haruna. Police commissioner Ahmadu Abdullahi told journalists that the suspect, Abduljabar Inuwa of Zai area in Dutse, was arrested on Monday. He explained that the suspect was arrested while in possession of forged complementary cards bearing the name and insignia of the speaker. Troops have destroyed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) factory in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo in an operation jointly carried out by the army, navy, air force, police and civil defence corps. Lt.-Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, the acting deputy director, 82 Division Army Public Relations, said this in a statement on Friday in Enugu.
