The police command in Imo State said it launched an investigation into the murder of another legal practitioner, Garricks Anyanwu, killed by suspected gunmen a week ago. The state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, disclosed this during a telephone interview on Tuesday. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of 23 illegal Bureau De Change operators and naira racketeers within the last month, as the commission arrested and arraigned 170 for similar offences. The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), Dr Olajide Idris has said the agency has begun investigating and responding to a strange illness identified in six wards in Sokoto State.
