The Ondo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has demanded that deputy governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi resigns his position after he dumped the party. In a statement on Monday by Alex Kalejaye, Publicity Secretary, Ondo State APC the party wished Ajayi well in his future endeavours but asked him to apply wisdom by resigning his position. Governor Godwin Obaseki has been stopped by a Federal High Court from participating in the governorship primary of the Peoples Democratic Party. The primary election is scheduled for Thursday, 25 June. The ban order was given 22 June by Justice E.A. Obile of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt. It was based on a motion ex parte filed by a PDP member, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 675 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Monday. The 675 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is now put at 20919. The NCDC also announced the discharge of 230 patients from isolation centers across the country with seven new deaths reported. Justice Ibrahim Watilat of the Federal High Court, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday, June 22, 2020, jailed four internet fraudsters for criminal impersonation. The convicts: Wariz Akintunde; Moses Olamilekan Dosumu, Richard Adegbite and Smith Enitan Adetayo were prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal Office. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have re-arrested a former Assistant Director in the Federal Civil Service, John Yakubu Yusuf, who has been on the run since 2018 after the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, sentenced him to six years imprisonment and a fine of N22.9 billion, for conniving with five other suspects to steal N32.8 billion Police Pension Fund.
