The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 648 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Monday. The 648 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 41180. The NCDC also announced the discharge of 829 patients from isolation centers across the country with two new deaths reported. Justice F. N. Azinge of the Delta State High Court sitting in Otor-Udu has convicted and sentenced the duo of Pastor Glory Okeoghene Aberefa and Reverend Vincent Okpogo to 16 and 10 years imprisonment respectively. The Federal Government has said Secondary schools in the country will reopen on August 4, 2020 for pupils in exit classes to sit for their examination. Arik Air announced on Monday that it has resumed flight operations to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, and Yola Airport from July 28. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has said two persons died while three were injured when a 20-feet container fell on a commercial bus at Ilasamaja on the Oshodi-Badagry Expressway. The Federal Government has extended the N-Power batch C online application by two weeks. The online application process, which opened on June 26, 2020, was scheduled to close on Sunday, July 26, 2020. The Federal Government explained the extension will afford interested youths the opportunity to also register.
