Facebook has taken down a video posted by right-wing news site Breitbart and retweeted by President Donald Trump, showing a doctor vehemently making false claims that antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine is a “cure for Covid” that allegedly racked up 17 million views before being removed. The Kano Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned four suspected fraudsters, Alhaji Musa Saleh; Shuaibu Muhammed, Garba Ado and Bala Mato, before Justice Lawan Wada of Kano State High Court, on eight- count charges bordering on criminal breach of trust and forgery. An independent review panel led by Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland has cleared Akinwumi Adesina, president of the Africa Development Bank (AfDB) of all charges. “The panel concurs with the committee in its findings in respect of all the allegations against the President and finds that they were properly considered and dismissed by the Committee,” the report of the independent review committee said.
