In a bid to help MSMEs formalise their businesses, the Federal Government through the Economic Sustainability Plan initiated by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is registering 250,000 business names for free. The formalization support under the MSME Survival Fund has already commenced across the country. This involves free business names’ registration for 250,000 MSMEs nationwide by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). According to the CAC, 6,606 business names in each of the 34 states will be registered for free. The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has announced the arrest of its personnel that were videoed beating citizens in Ilesha, Osun state. The police in Lagos on Tuesday paraded 520 suspects arrested for their roles in the destruction and looting that followed #EndSARS protests in the state. Six policemen and four others were killed in the state during the mayhem unleashed on Lagos, the police added. The Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS-related abuses in Lagos began on Tuesday with a petitioner recounting his experience in the hands of the police unit. Okolieagu Obunike, a father of five, told the panel that in 2012, Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) operatives detained and tortured him for 47 days at their Ikeja office, without trial.
