Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina has directed all boarding schools shut after bandits abducted some students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara on Friday. Masari gave the directive when he visited the school in company of the deputy governor, Mannir Yakubu. Other government officials, some parents, traditional and religious leaders as well as security officials, were in his entourage. The Katsina Police Command have rescued 200 secondary school students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina state following an attack by bandits on Friday. The police also said it is collaborating with the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force to recover all the missing and kidnapped students. The 58-year old he died on Friday night in Abuja after a public outing, he is believed to have died after a brief illness.
