The Osun Executive Council has approved a food support scheme for vulnerable persons in the state. The council took the decision at its weekly meeting on Tuesday. Gov. Gboyega Oyetola, disclosed this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ismail Omidipan, in Osogbo. Oyetola noted that the food scheme would be targeting 30,000 poor and vulnerable citizens of the state, starting from March 2021 till November 2022. The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, explained on Tuesday why the loot recovered from former Delta State Governor, James Ibori will be used for federal projects. Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has given a two-month ultimatum to all bandits in the state to surrender their weapons or face serious consequences. He gave the surrender deadline on Tuesday evening during a radio-TV broadcast. He also announced plans by the Federal authorities to fortify the state with the deployment of additional 6,000 troops. President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday launched the $3.2 billion rehabilitation and reconstruction of Port Harcourt-Maiduguri eastern narrow gauge railway project, Bonny Deep Sea Port and the Railway Industrial Park, Port Harcourt, to be executed with 85 per cent loan and federal government’s 15 per cent counterpart funding.
