PETROAN says NNPC has engaged American firm to assess PH refinery

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to completing the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Refinery, saying it would be functional within 18 months. “Port Harcourt Refinery will work, and certainly within the next 18 months,” the Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva said in an interview aired on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics. Kidnappers of Oba Tajudeen Omotayo, the traditional ruler of Imope town, in Ogun State have demanded for a ransom of N200 million to set him free. Adesola Omotayo, the wife of the abducted monarch confirmed the ransom demand in an interview with BBC Yoruba. Sanwo-Olu signs Anti-cultism bill into Law

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has approved the release and reduction of the sentences of four inmates in the state’s correctional centres. The Lagos State Attorney-General, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), said yesterday that the approval was in line with the recommendations of the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy. One of the inmates was ordered released while the jail sentences of the remaining three were reduced. Four suspected cybercriminals ‘Yahoo boys’ were killed in an accident when their SUV rammed into a stationary heavy duty vehicle. Four of the five passengers died on the spot.
