A police officer has died after slamming a vehicle into the security barrier surrounding the Capitol building, US media report. The suspect is reported to have emerged from the vehicle brandishing a knife before being shot by a police officer. The Capitol was locked down and a National Guard team was deployed as police instructed staff to remain indoors. Two officers were struck by the vehicle and have been taken to hospital. The Ogun State Police Command has rescued three travellers that were abducted in Ikenne Local Government Area of the state. The victims were abducted by seven suspected kidnappers in the early hours of Friday at the Ogene area of the local council. The aircraft marked – NAF475 – had two crew members on board when it went missing on Wednesday in Borno State. The Anambra Police Command says it has arrested four new suspects in connection with the reported attack on Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
