The Federal Government has suspended, indefinitely, the operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the suspension in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, citing the persistent use of the platform for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence. Thomas Tuchel has signed a new two-year contract at Chelsea following the Blues Champions League triumph against Manchester City. In Tuchel’s 30 games in charge of Chelsea, he led the team to 19 victories and only five defeats, with just 16 goals conceded. Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer will make his first fans forum appearance in his 15 years as owner of the Old Trafford club on Friday. Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters (DHQ) have detailed the successes recorded by the troops against terrorist groups, bandits and kidnappers across the country. The DHQ said operational efforts of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies conducting operations to tackle insecurity is yielding results. Five teenagers have been arrested in Belgium over the alleged gang rape of a 14-year-old girl, who died less than a week later. According to Belgian media, images of the attack were shared online. The victim took her life four days later. Senate President Ahmad Lawan has advised Nigerians with pressing views to build a national consensus around them to ensure the amendment of the constitution in their favour by the National Assembly and State Legislatures.
