NYSC corps member offering medical aid to a resident of the community

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) through its Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) has dewormed 156 pupils as part of its medical outreach in Lofan, Barkin-Ladi Local Government in Plateau. The NYSC-HIRD which started its one-week free medical outreach nationwide on Monday had also donated food items, toiletries, clothing, and money to the elderly in the community. The Plateau state coordinator of the scheme, Ms Caroline Embu, presided over the deworming on Wednesday in Lofan. Lightning kills cows in Kwara

Lightning has reportedly killed seven cows and injured two herders in a farm at Alla, in Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State. According to sources in the community, the incident occurred when two sets of migrant herdsmen were on their way from Oke-Ode to Alla. The trial of kidnap kingpin, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike alias Evans which was supposed to be held at Ikeja High Court on Wednesday was postponed due to the absence of a witness who was supposed to testify for the defence. The Senate on Wednesday passed for second reading the sum of N895, 842,465,917.00 as Supplementary Budget for 2021.
