The roof of the National Assembly started leaking after a bout of rain on Tuesday morning. The incident left many astonished especially after billions of naira were earmarked to prevent such issues. The affected areas included; the main lobby of the legislative complex – between both chambers. These areas had water dripping from the roof to other parts of the building. The Press Centre, where journalists monitor plenary sessions, was also affected. President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd) as Ambassador to Benin Republic. The Commissioner for Infrastructure for Concession in Ebonyi State, Fidelis Nweze, is dead. Mr Francis Nwaze, the Special Assistant to Governor David Umahi on Media and Publicity, announced this in a statement. He explained that late Nweze died in a ghastly motor accident that occurred on Tuesday, although he did not disclose the location where the crash took place. A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has sentenced the former Chairman of the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee on Petroleum Subsidy, Farouk Lawan to seven years in prison.
