Sunday Adeyemo otherwise known as Sunday Igboho has told a Benin Court of Appeal in Cotonou, the country’s capital that he fled Nigeria to avoid being killed. The secession agitator, who was arrested on July 19 with his wife while attempting to travel to Germany through Benin Republic has been charged with illegal entry into the west Africa country. A commercial motorcyclist (Okada) has been shot dead on Tuesday evening by a policeman in Osogbo. The ‘Okada’ rider had attempted to overtake the police patrol vehicle when the officer being trigger-happy, shot him and killed him. According to witnesses, the same team of policemen who commited the heinious crime also shot a private vehicle for not having a number plate. The unfortunate incident gave rise to a protest by other Okada riders in the area, who clamoured for justice.
