EFCC arraigns ex-Abia governor Theodore Orji over N47bn fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arrested a former governor of Abia State, Senator Theodore Ahamefula Orji on Thursday. Senator T.A. Orji has taken into custody for questioning alongside his sons, Chinedu and Ogbonna, for offences bordering on misappropriation of public funds and money laundering. The former governor’s arrest was confirmed by EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren. He is currently a lawmaker representing Abia Central Senatorial District at the Senate. Cultists kill two in renewed Lagos violence

At least one person has been confirmed dead on Thursday as cultists clashed in Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) in Port Harcourt, the state capital. The family of late activist, Mohammed Fawehinmi has revealed that he died of COVID-19 complications. The 52-year-old lawyer was the first son of late human rights lawyer, Chief Gani Fawehinmi.
