The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Uyo Zonal Command on Friday 17 September, 2021 secured the conviction of 17 Internet fraudsters before Justice Stephen Daylop Pam of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 30 suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation at Kwara State University, KWASU, Malete. The suspects were arrested following actionable intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud activities. Part of the intelligence indicated that suspected internet fraudsters were operating in campuses around Ilorin metropolis to swindle unsuspecting victims of their hard-earned income. Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the bill which will outlaw open-grazing in the state. The bill was signed on Monday following its passage by the Lagos State House of Assembly on September 9, 2021. A Rwandan court on Monday found Paul Rusesabagina, a one-time hotel manager portrayed as a hero in a Hollywood film about the 1994 genocide, guilty of being part of a group responsible for terrorist attacks. “They should be found guilty for being part of this terror group – MRCD-FLN,” judge Beatrice Mukamurenzi said of 20 defendants including Rusesabagina. “They attacked people in their homes, or even in their cars on the road traveling.” The case has had a high profile since Rusesabagina, 67, was arrested last year on arrival from Dubai after what he described as a kidnapping by Rwandan…

The Ogun state police command has cautioned residents (particularly christians) to stop having prayer meetings in the forest due to the increasing rate of insecurity in the state. The command lamented that despite repeated warnings issued to religious worshippers, some have continued to hold prayer sessions in the middle of the forest putting themselves and loved ones at risk. A group of unknown arsonists have razed down the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State. The incident was confirmed on Sunday by the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye. According to reports the attack took place in the early hours of Sunday, which caused extensive damage to the election materials that were stored in the building.
