Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has stated that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is bridge-builder who gives opportunities to poor Nigerians to prosper. The Nigerian Army has described as “dehumanising” a video of a female Nigerian Army officer, Lt. Chika Viola Anele, punishing a corp member, Ezeiruaku Ifeyinwa Fidelia. The video of Lt Anele who is serving in the 13 Brigade headquarters in Calabar, Cross River State surfaced on social media on Thursday. The Kaduna state police command has paraded three of the kidnappers who reportedly abducted over 100 students of Bethel Baptist school, Damishi, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State. The suspects were identified as: Adamu Bello, Isiaku Lawal and Muazu Abubakar. The trio were paraded on Thursday by the the Force Public Relations Officers, Frank Mba, at the headquarters of defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. A 64-year-old man, Folorunsho Olayanju who falsely presented himself as a lawyer has been sentenced to five years in prison by a Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo. Olayanju who was charged with six counts of fraud, impersonation and stealing was convicted by the presiding judge, Justice Peter Lifu. According to the prosecutor, Muyiwa Ogunleye, the convict defrauded one Hammed Bamidele of N2,250,000. Ogunleye revealed that the convict defrauded the victim with the pretext of using the funds as a professional fee for the prosecution of his case at the Supreme Court.
