At least twelve soldiers and local vigilantes have been reportedly killed by fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno. According to a report by PR Nigeria, the troops were ambushed around Ala village located between Marte-Dikwa town. It was gathered that the assailants had planted improvised explosive devices (IED) before-hand which exploded on contact, after which the terrorists opened fire on the convoy. Following the dismissal of Sergeant Samuel Phillips from the Nigeria Police Force, a Yaba Chief Magistrate Court has ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP). Dogo was arrested alongside one Dotun Shomoye, who specialises in printing identity cards for fake security personnel.
