On Friday, a Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the release of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, also known as Shi’ite sect, within 45 days. The court ruling follows several protest from the members of the sect. The Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh is about to concede defeat, the electoral commission chairman has told the BBC. Jammeh, who has been in power for 22 years, faced estate agent Adama Barrow in Thursday’s election. The leaders of four major global cities say they will stop the use of all diesel powered cars and trucks by the middle of the next decade. The mayors of Paris, Mexico City, Madrid and Athens say they are implementing the ban to improve air quality. Europol has warned that militants from so-called Islamic State (IS) will aim to step up attacks on European targets, as they face defeat in the Middle East. The European police force says more foreign fighters will try to come back to Europe, and “several dozen” capable of attacks could already be there. A former Chelsea footballer claims the club paid him £50,000 to keep quiet about allegations of sexual abuse by a former chief scout. Gary Johnson told the Mirror he had been abused as a youth player in the 1970s by Eddie Heath, who is now dead.
