Nigerian govt stops plan to sell rice for N40,000 per 50kg

The Lagos State Government has said that it would sell rice to residents at N13,000 per 50kg, beginning from December 15. On Wednesday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission questioned a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, for allegedly receiving N450m from the Coordinator of the Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organisation in Lagos State, Adewale Onilere, ahead of the 2015 presidential election. Cameroonians living in the city of Bamenda have revealed that the streets are too dangerous for him to go home because the security forces are using live bullets.
