A former Indian minister, who is serving a 10-year jail term for corruption, has passed a school final examination at the age of 82, his son said on Wednesday. Prakash Chautala, a four-time chief minister of the northern state of Haryana, took the class 12 school-leaving exam conducted by India’s open schooling system at its centre in Tihar jail, said his younger son Abhay Chautala, a legislator in Haryana. “He sat for the last exam on April 23, and has got a first division,” the younger Chautala said. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has stated that over 120 countries and territories around the world outside Biafraland will participate in the heroes day march declared by its leader, Nnamdi Kanu to honour those who lost their lives during the civil war. A 38-year-old ex-banker, Chidi Idems, who allegedly obtained N6.8 million from a customer under false pretences, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court. Idems, a resident of Abule-Egba area of Lagos, pleaded not guilty to a five -count charge of conspiracy, stealing, obtaining under false pretences, forgery and presumption as to false pretences under certain circumstances. The prosecutor, Sgt. Mike Unah, told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 2, 2016 at Agidingbi area of Ikeja. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) On Tuesday said it has released the results of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted so far. The examinations began on May 13 and will end on May 20. JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, who confirmed this to PREMIUM TIMES in phone chat said the results are being released within 24 hours after the examinations.
