The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for a deadly suicide bombing on a Shiite mosque in southern Afghanistan that killed 47 people and wounded scores more. At least 12 persons have been confirmed dead after an attack by armed bandits on Sakajiki village in Kaura Namoda Emirate in Zamfara State. The incident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer in Zamfara, Mohammed Shehu, on Friday. According to Shehu, the attack was carried out at about 9pm on Thursday. The Federal Government and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the execution of the 11.12 billion-dollar Lagos-Calabar railway project. A four-year-old girl was shot and killed by a police officer on October 14 in Buea, in southwestern Cameroon. She was hit by a bullet when the officer fired shots at a vehicle that failed to stop at a police checkpoint.
