Twelve people were crushed to death and around 50 injured on Tuesday when a 200-year-old oak tree fell on them at a religious festival on the Portuguese island of Madeira. Seven of those hurt were seriously injured, regional health chief Pedro Ramos told a press conference. The injured include a French citizen, a German and a Hungarian. Two more chief executives have resigned from Donald Trump’s American Manufacturing Council over the president’s response to violence in Charlottesville at the weekend. Zimbabwe’s first lady, Grace Mugabe, is due in court in South Africa following reports of an alleged assault, South Africa’s police minister says. A stuntwoman has died in a motorcycle accident while filming Deadpool 2 in the Canadian city of Vancouver. The stuntwoman, named by Canadian media as Joi SJ Harris, was killed on Monday morning, police said.
