Liberia’s President George Weah has called for the removal of a “racist” clause in the constitution which restricts citizenship to black people. The clause was “unnecessary, racist and inappropriate”, the ex-football star said in his first State of Nation since being elected president. Striking workers of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) have protested against the Federal Government’s continuous delay in implementing the agreement reached with their unions since 2011. Nigeria’s air force killed at least 35 people in attacks on villages in the northeastern state of Adamawa in December, Amnesty International said in a report on Tuesday.
